Insomnia Overload

So I ran out of my ambien because ive needed more of it to sleep lately. So I havent had it in a week and a half and I havent slept at night since I ran out. My doctor put me on something new called Belsomra but ive doubled the dosage and NOTHING.  Im not falling asleep until 8am every day/night, whatever you want to call it.  And then im sleeping off and on for a few hours, horribly, and then im wide awake again. So im incredibly sleep deprived. I have to wait until Monday to reach my doctor again. I dont know how much longer I can handle this. To top it off, my appetite has been nonexistent,  my stomach is very upset, my head is killing me and im super stressed. I know if I got some rest, id be better. At least id be able to deal with the other issues. But for now, im just too exhausted.  I give up

Its 5:01am...ive been trying to go to sleep for 4 hours now. I've really given up at this point. There's no point stressing over it when I know it wont happen for a few more hours anyway. Ugh!!! Sucks so bad

Making Space

I recently experienced a break up from my off and on boyfriend of 5 years and fiance of 6 months.  I thought I would be sick from the stress of the breakup but honestly I was sicker from the stress of the relationship. He's not a bad person inside and I'm not going to bad talk him, but the relationship was toxic and being with him put me in a low place with little confidence in myself and I felt distanced from who I want to be. As hard as it was to let go, I needed to make that space in my life for God and my family and to allow positive things to come in.

Fortunately,  I have experienced a significant decrease in my Crohn's symptoms since he left. I've been enjoying some much needed time with my family and close friends.  I'm incredibly grateful for all of their support!

Information on Crohn’s and Stress

Improve Your Lifestyle

Getting adequate exercise, eating a healthy diet, and kicking any tobacco habits can make the symptoms of Crohn’s disease easier to handle. Because Crohn’s can make nutrient absorption difficult, it’s also important to get adequate doses of vitamins and nutrients to make up for any lost due to malabsorption.

Stress and anxiety can also make the symptoms of Crohn’s disease worse. Stress can also trigger flare-ups. When you have an increased level of stress, your body’s normal processes can’t run properly. This includes your digestive tract. Stress can trigger symptoms or make existing ones worse. Finding a healthy way to handle daily stress, whether it’s through exercise, yoga, or talk therapy, is vitally important to increasing the number of days you’re in remission and symptom-free.

Quitting Smoking with Crohn’s

Crohn’s patients who smoke put themselves in jeopardy for increasing the severity of their symptoms.

Stress: My Biggest Trigger

I have been sick all weekend. Can't eat and when I do I can't keep it down and I can't get my stomach to settle.  I'm incredibly stressed with my personal life and I know that's the cause of it. It literally started the same moment I started getting upset. Now I'm faced with the battle of what to do. I have to decide to do something that will save me a lot of long term suffering but is going to cause a huge amount of stress and pain for a while until I cope with the change. I'm so lost.
